{November 19, 2013}   Creativity

As it is drawing closer to Christmas, I have started making the variety of Christmas presents for my friends and family. I started doing this when I had very little money and lots of people I wanted to give presents to at Christmas. However the feeling of making things with my hands and being able to then give them to people, seeing their expressions of gratitude and delight has made me continue doing this for a selection of people.

Obviously not everyone appreciates handmade crafts and for this reason I usually start making lots of items and realise part way through that I have lots of bits and pieces left over afterwards. Normally I would put them on ebay or maybe save them for someone’s birthday or even just add more people to the Christmas present list. However this year I have so many pieces left over I have decided to open an etsy store to sell on the items. It seems like a really good idea and means that though I will not get rid of everything straight away, people who like handmade crafts but don’t necessarily have the time or patience to make things have an opportunity to still give these gifts!

{November 2, 2013}   Rising Empire: Part 1

Rising Empire: Part 1

So this week has been an exciting and draining one. On 29th October my latest book hit the shelves – Rising Empire: Part 1. It was touch and go for a while if I would actually get it finished with delays caused because my mum and grandad had both been really sick, however in a week I managed to write 38,000 words and get the whole thing finished. This was somewhat of a relief, if it was the most exhausting mental activity.

The book is the first (chronologically) in the Chronicles of Celadmore series and along with it’s publication there is a whole new series of covers that have been introduced! It all seems to have happened at once and now all that remains is to market, wait, prayer and blog about it all in the hopes that people will find the paperbacks and digital copies, buy them, love them, review them and tell their friends about them…and I always thought that writing books was the hardest part!
